Salt Therapy San Antonio

Get The salt cave experience But With Your Privacy

A session in a salt room (like a salt cave but private) is typically 30 to 45 minutes long. You will be asked to wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothes as you sit in our private dry salt room, and if you are seeking therapy for a skin condition, you can expose that area.  Any salt that adheres to the skin can be safely brushed off.  Our salt room is disinfected between each visit, and a filtration system purges the air to provide fresh new dry salt air for each guest.

Dry salt therapy San Antonio, known as halotherapy from the Greek halo meaning salt, uses a device called a halogenerator that crushes and grinds 99.99% pure grade sodium chloride into particles invisible to the naked eye. These particles are dispersed into a special salt room or salt cave, where they are taken into the lungs for respiratory healing.

Dry salt is super absorbent, cleaning the respiratory system by removing any foreign elements or build up. It is also anti-inflammatory, widening the airways and improving oxygen intake. As an anti-bacterial agent, dry salt helps to dissolve bacteria and pollutants that can then be expelled by the body. Since this therapy is absorbed via the respiratory system, there are none of the concerns of digestive salt intake, such as hypertension. Dry salt therapy is completely natural, safe, drug-free, and non-invasive.

How Salt Therapy can help you

Conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, and bronchitis are all rooted in inflammation of the lungs and respiratory tract. This often either constricts the airways or produces damaging mucus (or both) and can result in coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. The effects of dry salt therapy in a salt cave or salt room are dramatic, with the microscopic salt particles able to reach and disinfect the deepest parts of the bronchial system, acting as a scrub brush and clearing out irritants. Patients have reported that respiratory discomfort is greatly reduced – or even eliminated.

For athletes, dry salt therapy in a salt cave or salt room, can be especially effective for maximizing performance. During training, improved lung capacity, recovery time, and breathing patterns can give you an added edge over the competition. If you suffer from asthma and allergies, or even simple airway inflammation, your weakened respiratory system can not only elevate your heart rate and hurt your stamina, it can lead to dehydration and increased chance of injury and cramps. Every day we breathe in unfiltered particles from the air that can inflame our airways, as well as increase mucus production. Salt room therapy allows these airways to be cleared, as well as providing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects throughout the respiratory system. With optimized breathing, you will be able to use air more efficiently and prolong the length and intensity of your workout.

Salt Therapy Couldn’t Be Easier

Respiratory and skin conditions are an unfortunate part of the aging process. Adding dry salt therapy to your immunity and wellness plan will go a long way towards mitigating the effects of aging, including reduced lung capacity and reduced skin oil production. When your lungs are clean, you can take in more life-giving oxygen. This affects every part of your body, improving overall well-being. Pure grade sodium chloride, as used in the salt room, has a positive effect on skin health as well. It can help kick-start the skin’s ability to repair and regenerate itself, stimulate skin and hair growth, and strengthen skin tissue.

In fact, skin and respiratory diseases often coexist and arise from similar issues of inflammation. Salt room therapy (aka salt cave) has been shown to have a positive effect on skin conditions of all types, including eczema, acne, and psoriasis. These conditions typically involve some sort of irritant that can cause scratching or result in severe dryness – both of which can result in small tears and being more open to infection. When the dry salt particles connect with the skin, they stimulate cell growth and balance skin pH. After a series of treatments, clients report less scaling and itching, and the healing of small fissures and tears.

Salt therapy in a salt cave or salt room, couldn’t be simpler – just sit in a calming salt room and breathe – but the results are extraordinary.
